At Beth-El Center, we understand that a hot meal is more than sustenance; it’s a space that fosters a sense of belonging, where neighbors come together to share stories, experiences and hope.

Our Community Kitchen is open to the public 7 days a week. We provide two nourishing meals daily to ensure that no one goes to bed hungry.

In 2025, we served over 55,000 meals!

Penny is a current Beth-El Center guest, who utilizes our Community Kitchen as a source of vital nourishment. We’d love it if you’d take a moment to hear her share her story in her own words by watching the video.

Permanent Supportive Housing

With a 100% success rate, we provide permanent supportive housing to the residents of Liberty Pointe, helping them access the resources needed to maintain their housing and independence. Charles has lived at Liberty Pointe for 13 years!

Our Outreach and Engagement Program provides supportive, community-based case management to help individuals navigate the emergency shelter system and access basic needs. This program focuses on supporting community members who are unhoused and living in places not meant for human habitation.

Through skilled, trauma-informed interventions grounded in kindness and respect, we build trusting relationships and work alongside individuals toward stability and permanent housing solutions.

We served 267 Individuals through this program in 2025. 93% of our Outreach clients found permanent housing through our support.

We’d love it if you’d take a moment to meet Craig, one of our Outreach and Engagement Clients, by watching the video!

Outreach

Our Diversion Services Team identifies and supports individuals, veterans, and families who are experiencing housing instability and who are on the brink of homelessness. Our Specialists work with these individuals in identifying alternate housing options and connecting them with the services and resources needed to help them return to permanent housing.

436 Homeless Prevention Meetings were held in 2025.

The Beth-El Center operates an overnight Warming Center in our Community Kitchen for unsheltered individuals from November 24th through April 1st. This is crucial support and seen as a lifesaving program in the community. We not only offer a warm place to escape the cold, but we also offer food and hot beverages to our guests.

As of February of 2026, we have seen record numbers of unsheltered individuals from our community seeking a warm place to stay, a hot meal, and other essentials to comfort them… specifically, over 190 people have come to our No Freeze Shelter this season, averaging at peak, 60 people per night. Despite a 45% increase in individuals seeking shelter throughout the state of Connecticut during these record-breaking temperatures, we refuse to turn away a single person who needs a warm place to escape the cold.

To learn more about our No Freeze Program, you can watch the video below, which features our Executive Director, Jenn Paradis, standing in front of where guests enter shelter for the evening.
