The Beth-El Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Milford, Connecticut. We provide emergency shelter, meals, and support services to individuals, families, and veterans experiencing homelessness and hunger. Serving 13 municipalities in the shoreline and lower Naugatuck Valley area, we offer case management to help residents achieve self-sufficiency and permanent housing. Our mission is to extend dignity and respect to all individuals and families while connecting them to housing, food and support services.

What’s Happening Now

Our Community Kitchen is extremely low on the above items.

If Ground Coffee could be caffeinated and regular roast that would be incredible. Cheddar Cheese can be grated or as a block.

And if you feel so inclined, gift cards to ShopRite and Costco earmarked for the Community Kitchen are always welcome!

Items can be shipped to us (90 New Haven Ave in Milford) via Amazon or dropped off any time!

Thank you for thinking of the unsheltered individuals who need our help the most right now!

The winter has not been kind to us. Beth-El Center’s resources have been stretched thin as we strive to help the most vulnerable families, veterans and individuals in the Greater Milford area who are housing and food insecure.

Our No Freeze Program has seen record numbers of unsheltered individuals from our community seeking a warm place to stay, a hot meal, and other essentials to comfort them. Despite a 45% increase in individuals seeking shelter throughout the state of Connecticut during these record-breaking temperatures, we refuse to turn away a single person who needs a warm place to escape the cold.

Barrett Outdoor Communications and an anonymous donor have teamed up to create an exciting opportunity to support Beth-El Center. They have donated $30,000 as a Matching Challenge to our community. When you support our Double the Hope, Double the Impact Matching Challenge, your gift automatically gets matched.

Your support is more important than ever.

Your support saves lives.

We have so many incredible events planned for 2026. We would love it if you would consider joining us!

Save the dates by downloading our 2026 Event Flyer.

Our next upcoming event is Funds for Friends at Stonebridge, where if you dine at Stonebridge Restaurant on April 28th during lunch or dinner and hand this flyer to your server, 15% of your bill will automatically go to Beth-El Center.

TRIBUS After Hours is being held on May 7th this year! Come to a fun, relaxing after-work gathering and enjoy some craft beer while supporting the most vulnerable in our community.

We are once again participating in The Great Give, a 36-hour online, virtual event held on May 6th and 7th that supports local nonprofits. Stay tuned for more information on how to become a Peer-to-Peer Fundraiser.
